After Venus and Mars, we thought we'd finish off the inner senshi by making Mercury and Jupiter too. Maybe fix a few of the problems that we'd made on Venus and Mars. Since we sort of realized that we'd be making multiple more Myu fukus, we saved all of the muslins and measurements from Venus and Mars and were able to use them on Mercury and Jupiter- which saved a looot of time. Not to mention that we now knew where to get the fabric from. Once again, we assumed that the fukus would be easy since we'd already made them and once again we were wrong. You'd think we'd learn?
We had a bit of a struggle with the fabric colors- Jupiter's green had to be lighter than Neptune's and Mercury's blue had to be significantly brighter than Uranus's- so we bought all of the skirt/collar material for the four fukus at once. It was around this point that we realized that we'd kind of gone crazy. It also meant that we had a small myu production line going on in the apartment for the two weeks before Anime Boston. The second time making these was certainly easier than the first.
We also agreed when we started this 'little' project that we weren't going to do boot covers (like they actually have in the musicals) and we were going to buy all of the same style/height heels for the senshi- I did end up making covers for my blue Mercury boots though since the blue boots weren't quite the right color and didn't come up over my knee (not even close really).
