Originally this was made for Katsucon '07 (with Kelly as Miaka) as a kind of joke costume. I love Fushigi Yuugi, but Miaka and Yui are obnoxious. This brown fabric would not hold the pleats for the skirt at all, and was pretty irritating, but overall the whole thing was really simple.
